CDC Issues New Guidance for COVID-19

On March 1, 2024, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) updated guidance on COVID-19

On March 1, 2024, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) updated its guidance on COVID-19 and it now recommends that it be treated like other respiratory viruses, such as RSV and the flu. The CDC is no longer recommending a minimum of five-days isolation period for those with COVID-19.  The CDC recommends that individuals who contract COVID-19 should remain home and away from others and only return to normal activities after they have a reduction in symptoms and no longer have a fever for at least 24 hours. The CDC is also recommending that individuals take additional prevention strategies for at least five days after they resume normal activities. Those prevention methods include fresh air circulation, enhanced hygiene practices, wearing a well fitted mask, keeping distance from others, and getting tested.
